Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Examinations

Alta Academy of Dance offers students various assessments and formal examinations at every level if so desired. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance’s system of ballet training which includes examinations and awards at each level. The RAD exams, class awards and solo performance awards provide motivational milestones and give children a sense of achievement and progression through the grades.

We take great care to ensure that students are well prepared for their exams and that they have had the necessary time to develop the technique and artistry required at each level. Students should attend lessons twice a week in the term they will be taking their exam. Senior and vocational students should ideally be attending lessons twice a week as a minimum.

Candidates who have passed their Grades 6, 7, 8, Intermediate or Advanced Foundation examinations, can use their RAD exam result towards their UCAS points tariff when applying to a relevant course at a university or higher education in the UK.
